For sale or part exchange, I am possibly interested in classic Jaguar/Daimler models, such as the XJ/XJ40, XJ12/Daimler Double Six, XJS, 420, or MK2.
Now onto the Land Rover, it is a 1972 109 station wagon powered by a 2.25 diesel engine. The engine has been refurbished at some point in the past and is fitted with void if removed stickers on the core plugs, but the exact date is unknown. It has had only 3 previous owners and was originally supplied by Coombs of Guildford, who were known for their racing Jaguars. The Land Rover still has the original supplier’s plate on the back and is an export model, so it was never fitted with a heater from new. It also has a very low chassis number and is fitted with a galvanized chassis.
In 2019, extensive sympathetic restoration work was carried out, including new side passenger doors, galvanized front door tops, galvanized B pillar assemblies, a complete bulkhead rebuild with new steel flush (no nasty plates), a new genuine LR radiator panel, and a new fuel tank. The Land Rover has an excellent set of original pattern Michelin XS tires and a full bare metal respray in its original mid-grey color. The bodywork is very straight and has no filler, which is rare for a UK vehicle. However, it is not a concourse vehicle and was intended to be a very smart driveable vehicle. Some areas could be improved to lift the Land Rover further, such as fitting second-row and rear door cards and tidying up the interior.
The Land Rover has tax and MoT exemption and is located near Alford, Lincolnshire. Viewing is welcome, and any questions are welcome.
