Up for sale is my Lotus Elite, which I am reluctantly selling to fund major engine work on my other classic car. The Lotus runs and drives really well, and I would be happy to drive it any distance.
The car has been fully recommissioned over the past 12 months after a long period in dry storage and has covered just over 400 miles since with no issues. The work carried out includes rebuilding the carbs by Eurocab at a cost of £658, fitting a new aluminium radiator and fan, a new cambelt and tensioners, rebuilding the water pump, fitting new ‘Gaz’ shock absorbers on the rear, overhauling the rear brakes and fitting a new master cylinder, replacing the front wheel bearings, fitting two new front tyres, a new fuel pump, and many more new parts.
The bodywork has the typical Lotus bubbles in the paint, mainly on the driver’s door, and some minor cracking on the front wings (see pictures and video). However, it polishes up well and still looks presentable. The wheels would benefit from a refurb to look their best again. The interior is tidy, and everything works as it should except for the speedo and the main beam headlights, which only work on the flash. I think the stalk is the problem. The mileage reads just over 12,100 miles.
The vehicle is MOT exempt but still has a current MOT until 16th March 2023. I am happy to re-MOT the car for the asking price of £(deposit required within 24 hours), or I am open to sensible offers.
The car is located near Ipswich.
